Im using an old fasioned samsung sens830 (P3/ 850MHz, 256Mb RAM, phoenixBIOS 4.0) winXP sp2.
one day it suddenly went blank while I'm reading some article on it & it restarted to give an error message on a blue screen. I've tried restarting it on
1. last known good configuration
2. safe mode
both failed giving me various different error messages. safe mode usually stucks at agp440.sys in system32 directory to give the error.
Then I tried to install a clean installation of winXP. but I could only format the hard disk.
from the begining of the problem when I tried to restart my laptop the screen goes blank and only in certain instances BIOS loads. but I can hear the fan & HDD working, and my CD drive also works. and some times it keeps on restarting with a black screen.
I tried booting the system with a live linux (Kubuntu) CD. Even it get stucked giving me an error saying a "kernel panic". I've booted the machine once in th esafe graphics mode of kubuntu after this. then I used Memtest+1.65 to check the RAMs it gives a hell lot of errors from the 3rd test and even it get stucked in test 5.
can some one help me in finding out where the problen is and how to fix it up........
