If you have BootCamp and a copy of Windows XP on the Mac , then you shouldn't have a problem. Otherwise, you'd need to buy a new copy Photoshop for Macs though it might be cheaper to just buy a full version of XP than Photoshop.

For the free ipod touch, you need to be a student, teacher, or school staff.

You can also contact adobe and get your licence transferred from the Windows version to the Mac version and they'll send you new disks once you send your old ones in. But that means you'll only be able to use it legally on the Mac and not on the PC as well.

You'd need a college email usually for verification purposes.

Yes, you'll need a copy of XP. Haven't heard about Vista though.

how do they verify? all u need is a college email account?
or do they do a little checkup? How does that process work?
can anybody that has gotten the free itouch tell me how the process went?

TBH...they didn't do any kind of verification when I ordered my computer but that was a couple years ago. I don't think they do still.

But the deals on the website for education are kinda, meh. It's actually cheaper in some cases to buy from Amazon.

If you are in college, however, check to see if your campus sells Macs in it's bookstore. I believe you get better deals when you buy them direct through the campus because then they really do know you're a student.

well like i said im a senior in high school not an actual college guy. but on the website it says K-12 can too. also i added everything and buying it with the promotion seems to be a better deal if you think about it. u get the 100$ off for being a student which lowers the price to 1400. + itouch which is 300 + the printeer = all of that on rebate 500$ on rebate
and i can sell the itouch if i want to which i prolly wont, but seems like its a much better deal. one thing i can do is have my sister get it since she goes to UCLA.

I'm blind...I didn't see that you were still in HS.

Like I said though, check Amazon too. I believe the iPod rebate deal still counts if you buy from another store, just make sure you buy both at the same time—I got burned the first time they did Cram and Jam because I bought the iPod separately and they wouldn't accept it, regardless of the fact that the poster hanging up at my school didn't say shit about having to buy them at the same time.

And definitely have the sister check out the prices at the school store.

oh then of course Amazon would be much better since i get free sihpping, cheaper price and no tax for me... also i will ask my sister but i never knew the "schoool store" sold laptops. oh well i guess i will have her go there and check the prices out. im also not sure if i shoul;d buy it now, im thinking of just mayube waitin for the new MacBooks.

I just checked the promo and it looks like you can't buy from Amazon and still get the iPod. If UCLA sells Macs on campus (edit...they do:http://www.uclastore.com/), however, you should be able to do it as it the promotion covers sales made through Apple Authorised Campus Stores... http://images.apple.com/promo/pdf/BTS08_TCS.pdf

Do be aware though that you can only purchase one Macbook at the UCLA store per year. So if she ever needs to buy one, you can't get two. I used to work at the UCLA Store as a tech guy (making a very tiny undergraduate work-study salary) and there was a case where someone bought a Macbook for someone else, then had hers broken with no more warranty and was unable to buy the same model.

Just go to the UCLA Store, B level, in the computer shop and they'll do all the paperwork so long as she has her Bruincard. I believe they still check it though I haven't worked there since freshman year.

As long as she didn't buy that macbook less than one year ago, she should be fine to buy another one.

You can try it here:

All the instructions you'd need are on the right hand side of the page
