Well I don't recognize the brand so you have to be wary that they'll go under any day. The video card should be fine but I've heard that that card has overheating issues really bad (but I'm not positive its on this model). For the other specs, it doesn't seem like this computer should cost that much....more like a $900 price tag would be appropriate.

please feel free to not read the above poster and what he/she has to say
because its far from true

also, i really really hate, and i do mean choke a kitten hate......when people, say dual core 2.1ghzx's 2!!! let alone a company omfg

anyhoo, here is your same laptop you want, spec'ed a bit better

http://www.ibuypower.com/ibp/Store/C...=302&c=1402440

you DONT need 4gb of ram, and even more so, "gaming ram" cause let me tell you........your eyes, nor your fps will tell the diffrence in "gaming ram" than bugget

also, its 154$ for 4gb, thats just a rip

so i spec'ed it to 2gb of mushy ram, and got a 250gb hdd

and NO ibuypower has been around a while, hence me saying dont listen to the poster above me........just because "he" hasnt herd of them means they are gonna belly flop tomorrow OH NOEZ I THINK HES AN INTERWEBZ GOD!!

anyhoo, Ibuypower is just like any other OEM, its a hit or miss with a laptop........to me that looks like a Clevo chasis......so yeah thats a decent laptop and would be a great mid range gaming laptop

so would the video card

i say go for it

here are the resellerrattings for Ibuypower

not the best, but no where near the worst

I don't know what your problem is with each other but this is enough. Stop it now or you'll both be getting temp bans.

How do I end up taking flak for this? I'm ignoring him as best as I can, but he seems to be the one that can't leave it alone. I take time to reply to the best of my ability to the question and he comes in with personal insults and rudeness. I have no problem with him, he just seems to have a problem with his attitude.

God mods irritate me that think any complaints are automatically the result of two sided provoking (you essentially blamed the kid being bullied for being in the way of the bully) and rather than trying to solve the problem, quick jump to ban-threats. If I were modding this forum I'd simply clean up his post with the personal attack portions, PM him a warning (in addition to the ones I would have given him for bad etiquette yesterday), and let it be. I'd also delete the "defense" reply of mine. There isn't going to be anymore problems since, as I said, he's on my ignore list....which is the appropriate action for me the user to take in this situation.

It's disparaging that I end up getting yelled at for something that isn't my fault. Read his posts from yesterday....rough, aggressive, arrogant, rude to use a few words. It's even more disparaging that I have to make a post like this when I came here only with the intent of helping others as best as I can.

cool, do please keep ignoring whoever party that offends you with personal insults & rudeness. we mods, "seem" to be slowed to get around, but we WILL get around.

it is easier to "nail" ONE bully, than trying to determine which bully was the bulliest!
You can help us all out (and to others that read this post) by keeping your cool, and let us get to the bully

as you suggested from above, a PM to mods would do wonder.

cheers ...

. good specs, price is right, go for it.
. regarding your statement of "problems with 64bits and 4GB configurations", if you can expand this, maybe we can all take many shots at it to give informative inputs.

cheers ...

Yup, those specs on the newegg link are fine in my book.

And I also don't know about any 64 bit problems with 4 gb ram except that 64 allows the OS to actually use all 4 gb as opposed to 32 bit only being able to use 3.5 gb.

Ok so i didnt say it right...but im reffering to vista 32 not recognizing all 4gb of ram... and u have to have a 64 bit OS to make use of 4gm ram, right?

So I did some more research and found that Vista 64 bit will recognize (and be able to use all 4gb of ram) however, theres some software and hardware issues with using 64 bit (im not totally sure what the issues are but generally some popular software does not run on 64 bit Vista). I got all this info from a customer reivew on newegg so it may be a minor issue (or a non-issue, who knows).

If anyone has experienced vista 64 (or even xp 64 bit) maybe they can comment on their general experience with software compatibilities?

Anyways since this is going to be my first laptop i want to do the work before i get it. And i was really looking forward to 4gb ram but realized it maybe too much trouble considering vista OS.

so another laptop that i reeeallly want is:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16834220337

anyone have comments about the graphix card?

sorry for the long post. Thanks for the help everyone!

All 32-bit software runs on 64-bit OS (I'm pretty sure). Like right now, I'm running Firefox and in the task manager it just says (Firefox 32) meaning it's running in 32 bit mode. Most of the problems with 64 bit are lack of driver support, but hardware manus are finally realizing the importance of 64 bit support with AMD and Intel both supporting it. Read this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WOW64

There is a 64 bit XP if you prefer 4 gb the full 4 gb but drivers for that OS are VERY sparse. Thus I suggest just running 32 bit XP and screw the extra 500 mb of ram.

Your new laptop link looks great. The Radeon 3650 is plenty good: http://www.notebookcheck.net/Mobile-...ist.844.0.html

It's number 40 in that link.

Thanks for the insight dr owned, and everyone else. I'm deciding between Asus M50Vm-A1
http://1toppc.com/Merchant2/merchant...Category_Code=
and some other models. But I'm gonna wait and see some of the reviews since these are new models.
Thanks again!
