sager 5680 beeping constantly

Hey everyone,
I have an old sager 5680 (aka clevo D500P). Recently it started beeping constantly at one second intervals when on (starting at boot) with the cap and scroll lock leds blinking. Otherwise it appears to be running fine, all the fans are working and it seems to be cool.

Any ideas?

Does it boot into the BIOS/Windows normally? Does the beeping ever stop? Do you get any errors during the POST?

The basic things that I try first are: Remove the battery, plug into AC and then boot; remove memory sticks one by one to see if a memory module is bad; reseat memory and hdd.

Let us know if any of that made a difference.

Yes it was beeping constantly. I'm pretty sure it was something to do with the fans. I managed to get it to stop beeping by playing a game that made them spin up to full speed for a while. After a few minutes it fixed itself.
My guess it was getting some faulty hardware readings from the fan and by stressing them it managed to correct itself.

Have you updated the BIOS to the latest version? That could help prevent the problem from resurfacing.
