VGn-FE890 Ram

Thread Starter
So i have a stock Vgn-fe890 with 2 gigs of ram windows vista, 32 bit cpu, yata yata yata. and i decide to upgrade to 4 gigs of ram.

unaware that i need a 64 bit processor, i stick it out with 3 gigs, but on first reboot from hibernation the computer refuses to turn on. sony refuses to help me because im "over the maximum ram on the computer" so they cant help?

im probably leaving a lot of information out but...any ideas?

Sony is correct in this instance, meaning the specs only call for max of 2 gigo installed. It has nothing to do with 64bits OS.

Unless some FE890 owners had some success in upgrading the ram before.

cheers ...
