HP DV6000 restarting automatically

Thread Starter
Hello,

After turning on my DV6000 runs for around 5 sec, the screen stays black, and then the computer restarts and starts up normally. Though this happens only sometimes, I am wondering why and could there be a problem.

Any ideas?

Regards,

Problem with the northbridge BGA chip.

Had this happen too to an old IBM (pentium I, 166 mhz). Funny thing is that laptop still works except for the "double" BIOS boot. Not really helpful, just sympathizing.

I have had the same problem, my computer will boot up, and then auto restarts after logging in to my name. If there is any chance that some help can be given, repairs can be done myself, but I would like to know what to try, Ram has been checked, it isn't the CPU overheating, so what is the issue??

Try under Safe Mode first and see if the reboot issue goes away?

cheers ...
