I need help with this. 
My tv only has a rca inputs and the laptop has s-video. I bought the cable to connect the two. When connected all i get on the tv screen is mismashed colours, the screen flickers and there is a black bare that travels down the screen like it is trying to refresh the tv screen. I tried to change the display settings on my laptop but I have no idea what I am doing. Could really use some guide help.

My tv is really simply 13inches insigna crt tv. I have the a Geforce 7000M/nForce 610m graphics if that means anything. I have vista operating program.
