brand new dell vostro battery issue

Hi anyone please who can advise on this one - I have a 3day old Vostro dell 1710.
Its been fine untill today when i turned it on and it said it couldnt recognise the battery, i took 1 of 2 options -to continue or to text the laptop, i took test.
good news everything like mem and cpu passed.
But now i have the power plugged in and its not charging ????? Im about to pull my hair our pls help....

Ring Dell and tell them you have a faulty battery.....they should courier you a new one.

I would also use the notebook without the battery installed in the meantime......just in case.

Bad luck,but it happens occasionally....after three days,I would also be asking for a larger 9 cell[if you don't already have one] as a measure of goodwill from dell
