Here are some pictures of my new laptop. After waiting for almost 3 weeks , I finally got my new toy. I will give my impression of it on the Dell review forum.

Go to Dell.com . Log to your account (Home or whatever section you bought the laptop from). Choose Services and Support . Then choose manage your system . You should see the service tag of your laptop. On the left hand side choose original configuration. It should give you the parts of your laptop. Hope this helps.

Now I'm jealous. Very nice machine. I can't wait to upgrade to a newer notebook. Maybe by the end of summer.

My service tag just showsed up on the order history page, but when I go to my systems, and enter it, it says invalid service tag. Any ideas?

I'm having the same issue. I think it's just a problem with getting the website updated with the information.

Tracking on UPS doesn't show up either. It's the same situation, website is just not updated.

nice pics
but don't u ppl think that Inspiron 9100 is little big to carry it?
Not at all, most of the claims of the 9100 being too big are more emotional than based on any real logic. What you have to realise is that the 9100 will fit inside virtually any laptop bag that holds the 8600. They have essentially the same dimensions except the 9100 is 1/2 inch taller. But when it is inside the laptop bag you would'nt know what it contained. So as far as size goes, there is no disadvantage in the 9100 when it come to carrying.

Weight is a different story, the 9100 is about 2lbs (1kilo) heavier, which might be a problem if you were walking several kilometers (miles) per day, but if like me you only carry it from home to the car, then from the car to the work office and back again, I wouldn't even notice the difference in weight.

hm How much did ur DELL costs u? I saw ur specs and I'm impressed! I'm thinking buying one 9100
post #14 of 26
It cost me $3344 Australian, or about $2300 US, but it had the double ram deal and HD upgrade at the time. Since the 9100 has been released in Australia, there hasn't been a better deal on it.

Compared to other Laptop prices in Australia it was a bargain with those specs...

and I guess now it's cheaper in NY right?
Not sure, probably though...

Sweet Pics! I just don't understand why people say it looks 'cheap'!

I purchased a I9100 , should be here this week. Mine is coming with a 2.8 proc.
Can I upgrade this CPU in the future to a HT3.4 or just a plain 3.4 cpu?

Whats your screen resolution?

Rob--I agree with your 9100 weight logic. It's the same for me, I have 60 ft. from my home office to the car and the same from car to business office. I ordered the 9100 yesterday.

By the way, the Dell site has all my order details already listed. I was able to find screen type--Samsung WSXGA+ and P4 Northwood 3.0 gig (this is the config I hoped for).

PS This is my first post to a very helpful forum. I made decisions based input that I sifted through on this site.
