Question about buying ram form m15x...

I just received my m15x with 2 gigs of ram and want to upgrade it to 3 gigs. Would this type of ram from Best Buy work:
Kingston Technology - 2GB PC2-5300 DDR2 Laptop Memory ?

My lappy currently has this:Y9530 QIMONDA 1GB PC2-5300 SO-DIMM MODULE

Thanks.

Yes, it would work. Ideally it would be nice to have both sticks of RAM be exactly the same, but in your case it should work just fine.

Vista only uses 3 gigs of ram at most right?

I thought about getting two sticks to have 4 gigs of ram, but wouldn't that be a waste? I have heard that Vista at 32 bits only uses 3 gigs of ram at most. Is that really true?

Unfortunately it is true. The 64-bit version is able to use all 4GB of RAM.
