3gig Ram for Vista?

I've been lead to believe that Vista is able to support 3gigs of RAM. In my current m17x setup I have 4 gigs but the computer is only recognizing 2. How do I get it to see the third?

I would say that one of your stick is not properly set correctly or one stick is bad... it will show 3 gigs of ram is you have it....

I've got vista 32-bit with 4G, and it shows 3.3G. I think littlefrankus is right, one of your sticks either is bad, or it's not seated.
