Help on buying a gaming laptop

Thread Starter
I want to purchase a new laptop, I have dealt with gaming pcs for years, and now I want to try something more quiet, compact. I have no idea what to buy but I was hoping that someone here could help me out. Right now I currently play lineage 2 and COD 4. Im looking to purchase something that can play both those games on full graphics with no hesitation. If you could list a direct link to a sight where I can purchase this machine I would really appreciate it.

Hope to here from you soon

Gonna need some more info.

How much do you want to spend?
What is compact to you?
Screen size. 14.1, 15.4, 17?
Battery life?
Weight?

Sorry, I dont want to spend more than $2,100. weight doesnt matter, looks dont matter, and battery can be average because it will most likely be plugged in. Im mainly concerned that it can play lineage 2 on full graphics with no lag.

15 or 17" screen? Both the Dell 1530 and 1730 fall well within your price range (non-sli).

There are also a few ASUS models that fit and maybe an AW depending on the specs you put into it.

I want to go with 17 inch, and between dell and Asus, which model should I go with, also I noticed that lineage 2 runs really smooth with raid set up, should I go with raid or no? remember I want it to run butter smooth

Raid in a laptop is okay. I had an older AW with the setup for a little while and I ended up just disabling RAID and having two HD's.

At the $2000 mark, Sager/Clevo might be the best bang for the buck gaming computer out there. You can also look into the FX series from Gateway, they are one of the cheapest solutions with an 8800m GTS you’ll find.
