Area 51-M 766 (need some help..noob)

So i've been looking all over the net as to how to upgrade my ram, i currently have 512 MB purchased back in 03', so its too slow for playing newer games.
I unscrewed the plastic panels from beneath the laptop and there are metal panels and aluminum foil looking crap instead of microchips and motherboards.

anyone have pictures or an instructional video?

Can it even be done? I'm not the most computer inclined person here, i may even sound like a total dumbass to some of you. I'm just looking for some help.
