Studio 15 buying help

I am one of the unfortunate owners of a e1705 with a 7900gs which is fried. I haven't been able to find a replacement video card for my laptop so I figured id need to buy a new laptop or do something to be in a good situation again.

I did this Studio 15 and ordered it although its been back ordered and I may cancel it since im not sure if it fits what I want.

Studio 1535, Intel Core 2 Duo T5850, 2.16GHz, 667Mhz, 2M L2 Cache

3GB, DDR2, 667MHz 2 Dimm

Glossy, widescreen 15.4 LCD (1280x800) w/ 2.0M pixel Camera

ATI MOBILITY RADEON HD 3450 (dual-link DVI, HDMI, and DisplayPort digital outputs)

320G 5400RPM SATA Hard Drive

6X Slot Load Bluray (BD) ComboDrive (BD Read Only)

Those are the basics. One of the big things with my laptop that I want is the Blu Ray player. I have a 50" panasonic 1080p plasma and still need the Blu ray. Does anyone know if this will perform the same as any other blu ray player? I wasnt sure if the shitty video card would have anything to do with the blu ray when its playing on my plasma. Also, I run my laptops with my Samsung 22" lcd so thats why I didnt get with an upgraded laptop screen.

I also do enjoy the occasional video game (used to play WoW, will play diablo 3) but I mainly play those on Xbox 360. So just wanting feedback to whether I should stick with the Studio that should be coming soon or cancel that and order something else (maybe just get the cheapest video card I can find for my laptop [the e1705] when im in class and then order a desktop for when im at home)

Thanks

If u want a blu ray player, have you considered getting a PS3, I have one and it really is a solid blu ray player plus MGS4 is probably one of the best games I've ever played (I got the MGS4 pack), but if you don't care for backward compatability w/ PS2 games, you can get the 40gb version for $399.
I also think that Walmart has a promotion; a free $100 giftcard with any blu ray player (and since PS3 is blu ray player the promo applies).
Just a suggestion , please don't flame me if u think xbox rocks and PS3 sucks a** alright.
Cheers.

Well PS3 was what I was planning on doing for my blu ray until my laptop died and priorities changed until I saw Studio had blu ray. I am a xbox rocks type of guy but if ps3 has blu ray that according to a lot of reviews is better than other blu ray players, then might as well spend the money for a ps3.

I guess ill get my studio, see how it does with blu ray and depending on how it works, ill either keep it or send it back.

Sounds like a plan

I just checked the Dell website, I thought the blu ray upgrade was $400 across the board, didn't know that it's only $200 for the Studio line.
Good luck, hope the blu ray player is decent so u can save some money. I was thinking if you're gonna pay $400 extra for the upgrade, then might as well get a PS3 instead.
Cheers.
