Problem Booting Up

Thread Starter
I have an HP Pavilion dv2000. It's a little over a year old. Today, I started the computer and it booted up perfectly fine. Two minutes into using the computer, it froze completely. It wouldn't respond to anything (ex. ctrl+alt+del) so I shut it down by holding down the power button. Since then, I haven't been able to get the computer to start up again.. All the lights come on and the fan starts running. The hard drive however, makes no noise at all and the light that usually shows that the hard drive is working isn't on. The screen remains black. Please help! I'd prefer opinions on here before I call HP tech support..

It sounds like the motherboard failed. These boards have issues with the wifi not responding anymore, USB ports failing, and not getting video.

These can all be repaired. Did you buy an extended warranty on your system?

Search for HP Enhanced warranty as they have added a lot of DV2000 to the fix for free deal.

Awesome news!

Do you have a specific link with the details?

That is great news. I have like 2 or 3 dv2000's that I can send in and not worry about trying to repair it myself
