Graphics Cards

Hi,
Right now im torn between the NP5796 and the NP8660 . They would have the same specs, except for the graphics card. The 5796 would have the 9800 GTX, while the 8860 would use the 9800 GT. I was wondering what kind of performance differences i would see with that. For reference, the rest of my specs would be:
4 gigs of ram
2.53 ghz processor (P9500 )
super glossy screen
320 gig hdd
2 gigs of TurboMemory

I want to be able to play games like UT3 on resonably high settings. would the 8860 work for that? I want it to last a while.
also, im assuming the battery life will be better, but could anyone tell me what i could expect from a 8860 with those specs? I was told under 2 hours for the 5796.

Thanks

This gives a good sense of relative performance

I just bought a 9800GT equipped notebook and although I haven't installed UT3 yet I expect it will play just fine.

It depends a lot on the screen resolution you select for your notebook. I have WUXGA (1920x1200) on a 17" display and it's pretty compact so my personal recommendation on the 8660 with the smaller 15.4" display would be to go with WSXGA (1680x1050). This will improve your frame rates without sacrificing screen clarity by running out of native res.

UT3 is a CPU intensive game and one of the very few that actually scales to more than two cores. Although the graphics card is still important this particular game will benefit from a faster CPU especially in the range of selections you have on the 8660.

NVidia has also just released their Physx enabled drivers that may change performance in this game but I haven't tested it yet.

By the way...how many people are still playing UT3? I love this game but it seemed to die off in the wake of COD4 and I just couldn't find enough populated servers.

For Crysis, I know the 9800m GTS can get around 15-20 fps, So the 9800m GTX should get a bit more frames.
