I just received my new Dell Studio 1535 laptop today and was installing drivers, programs, apps, etc as well checking it out in general. I put a BluRay into the drive and started watching it using Dell's "Media Direct". I had the PC volume up all the way (with the HD audio drivers installed for the Creative Card I bought with the laptop), and the media program was turned up all the way also. Nevertheless the volume was not loud at all. If I placed the laptop a few feet in front of me it was borderline quiet. I thought maybe it was the media program I was using, so I downloaded the free trial of PowerDVD 8, but had the same issue. Using Itunes to play sample songs at the "Music Store" however, seemed to be louder than the movies ever got.
Additionally, there was sometimes a slight crackling of the speakers while watchign the movies. Any ideas?
