I have a Fujitsu Lifebook S6231 and need to replace the palm rest part of the case. I've ordered the part but need some advice on exactly how to remove the present palm rest and touch pad. I've replaced keyboards on the B series lifebooks before but my S series model I've never done more than replace the hard drive and memory. Would greatly apreciate any instructions or advice. Thanks.

S6231 Palm Rest Replacement
Palm Rest is the part of Upper cover. It is very Delicate Process (as 3 hidden screws in the optical bay & one Screw in side the hard drive bay). First open the Status Bar / Hing Cover.Take keybarod out (keyboard has not screws) Take 12 Screws out from the bottom (incl HDD & CD Bay Screws). Use plastic Screw Driver to pry the top cover.Take 9 screws out (all are same) from top cover. Careful while detaching top covery PCI Card Slot button will get damaged. Detach the Touch Pad Cable carefully.
Switch the Touch Pad from old cover to new one. Place the cover on the machine and secure it with the 12 screws.
All screws put them back. Make sure each screw goes on the same place other wise screws will show up on your palm rest.
Good Luck
