Dont know whats going on (inspiron 1720)

Thread Starter
For quite a while now, keys will randomly stop working on my keyboard. As soon as I log out or reboot the computer, the keys will work again. It is quite annoying, as it is always different keys that stop working & its multiple keys that are affected at any given time.

It is not sticky keys or anything like that either and no liquid, etc has fallen onto the keyboard.

Also - the big problem at the moment is that I recently had a Dell Technician come to fix an audio port on my laptop. Since it has been fixed, the 7,8,4,5,1,2 keys on my numpad DO NOT work. Im not sure what has happened, but this is very annoying, as i use the numpad alot.

My mouse always stops working randomly also (since the technician). It stops and starts and so on. This happens with EVERY mouse i use on the computer, not just one and those exact mice work on other computers fine. It is not a wireless mouse. Also, VERY annoying.

Any ideas?
Thx x

First thing i wud suggest is to try a system restore to an earlier date before your audio port issue was addressed.
If that does not help then check in device manager if there are any yellow question mark/exclamation mark....you can try to reinstall the notebook system software and the chipset drivers.
