PowerColor's newest HD4870 to offer better cooling along with the higher clocks:
|Pictured below, the new model has 4 phase VRM, a reddish PCB, a 256-bit memory interface and a 800 Stream Processor-boasting RV770 chip.
Also featuring dual-DVI connectivity, the new graphics card has 512MB of GDDR5 memory clocked at 3800 MHz, 200 MHz higher than the reference models, and a GPU frequency of 800 MHz (750 MHz stock). To cool off all of these, PowerColor has decided to use a dual-slot solution made by ZeroTherm which is equipped with two heatpipes and quite a nice and big fan.
PowerColor should release this new Radeon HD 4870 before the end of this month. No word on pricing though.
