What MXM type is the 9600M GS ?

Hello everyone !!

I was wondering if anyone here knows the nvidia MXM type is in my laptop? My laptop is the ASUS M70Vm-X1 and it has an ** nvidia 9600M GS **
My 9600M Gs is insufficient for the games I would like to play. Thank you for your help.

First you have to check to see if your notebook has an MXM video card. Are you sure that it's removable and fits the MXM specifications? (which can be found at www.mxm-upgrade.com )

If it is MXM, I'd guess it's type 2, which means that the best you could replace it with would either be a 9650M GS or a 9700M GTS (depending on whether the 9700s are MXM 2 or 3)

If it isn't MXM (which would be my guess, since otherwise Asus probably would have mentioned it, as they did with the C90), then you cannot upgrade the video card and you'd be better off returning the computer and getting one with a more powerful video card if you can't run the games you'd like at desired framerates.

It is not on the list

Asus

Z81s Yes III Upgraded to X1800
A4S Yes III Upgraded to X1800
Z84 Yes III Upgraded to 7900GS 512M
C90 Yes II

I have the same card and have had no problems with it even in Crysis what are you trying to play and at what Rez/Settings?
