Time to move on to a diff forum

Thread Starter
Used to post here alot in the past...not so much recently.

It seems that this forum has just become well sorta stale...

Anyways, looks like I have found a new home to go along w/my new Studio1735

I agree compared to notebookreview this one is stale. Though I frequently peek in here. But there is almost no talk at all about the XPS M1730. Though in the notebookreview forum we have a huge M1730 thread which people and myself post tips and tricks frequently.

Seems like this guy is trying to recruit people. No thanks.

Your link has changed....I wonder where its gone

Congradulations on you new notebook ....pity you don't post some pics and a few comments here as well on how your finding it.....I'd like to know

And yes I agree to a certain extent.....NBRF has excellent participation and info.....its a pity most users don't know how to read a thread about the same thing they are going to ask a few lines down though.....great AW bashing section though, most entertaining.

Why don't you recruit people here, instead of recruiting people to NBR?
Otherwise, See ya!, lol

Don't let the Door hit your ass on the way out lol

Threads like this make me sad
yeah, it is unnecessary. can see this kind of behaviour on many different forums, though. people think they need to "choose" one forum like an religion and want to make other people go with them.
If people want to move to a forum that's owned by a corporate media company, that's fine.
I've been to that forum. It definately lacks pc geeks/nerds though. I think this forum have alot more high level pc geeks/nerds who can actually help others. That's just me though.

Yay for flounce posts!

What is it...what is it that the children are saying these days, um, "don't let the door hit ya where the good lord split ya", is that...yeah, um, that's what they say, isn't it?

Me too....but what can you do,a forum is the sum of its members really, although I still think the new style scares little children and is harder to navigate for anybody let alone visitors.

Good comment Felix....its actually quite amusing to me how people say they're moving somewhere on the internet....like you would a job or country.

I agree sort of.....there are also some clever people there as well, its just they get buried by the absolute masses of inane threads and posts that would be dealt with less kindly on this forum......you know...."use the search function" or...."google it" that was very common as a reply back when the forum was a lot busier than it is now.

#1: I too wish that the new forum style would come into play + a credit system....

#2: I also wish it was busier

Number 1 rule Don't burn your bridges.Thats just my opinion

Nah it doesn´t lack geeks I am one of them there . Though my fray into notebook forums started with this forum notebookforums.com. But I agree the TC made it sound like he recruited people over to NBR, though I think people over here at notebookforums is more hardcore and more experienced than most of the people over there.

As said I use both forums. But I must agree that there is little to no talk about the M1730 here, maybe most people that bought a M1710 did not buy the M1730.
I know when I bought my M170 most people just a few months after bought the M1710 and there were much talk about, tips and tricks. This is not what it is currently with the M1730.

I've seen few people, and even mods there giving wrong information when people asked questions, and that just turned me off from it.

When people answer a question they aren't 100% sure, people usually say something like "I think" or "my guess is". I've seen people/mods giving irresponsible answers too often there.
That is true, though I have given plenty of tricks and especially Crysis optimizations for 8800m GTX SLI in that forum, though specifically the M1730 Official Thread. Most people just ask though, but there is hardcore people there who knows what they talk about and respond in the appropiate manner.

i sometimes go to the other place, but i feel more comfortable here, dont quite know why someone would need to choose one or the other

the 'light style' is just awful viewing on Dell notebook panels. I know that would turn me off if I were new and stumbled here

Some good stuff on the other forum, there's more activity, but agree a lot of chaff. I surf both & dell communities too
post #20 of 51
actually i don't know what the problem with this forum's layout is. i think this lightstyle looks fine. and i wouldn't choose the forum by it's look.
and those who don't like it can still switch to another style using the style chooser.

beside of that i like this forum, as most people are friendly and usually you will get a solution for your requests quickly. also a lot of long years dell users here.

only thing is, that activity here seems to get less. but this won't change if everyone changes to another forum.
