Dell still selling the obsolete stuff

everyone else is selling the 9800's and dell is still passing the 87/88 series off.

do they no know that the chips are out?

Hey, if people buy them why not sell them? Besides, isn't nVidia part of that equation too?

It could be that Dell wants to sell them, but nVidia is short on supply, it could also be that Dell is a bit gun-shy about another nVidia mobile GPU. They could be waiting for AMD to come out with a new high-end mobile GPU.

Very likely true about a "new" mobile GPU, especially since nVidia's latest GPUs have very bad heat issues. I'm sure Dell got quite a flood of bad laptops back due to those issues. That and ATI is about to introduce a lot of new mobile GPU chips that are supposed to be quite good. Time tells all...
