Many NVIDIA SLI enthusiasts were disappointed earlier this year when an announcement was made regarding SLI support, or lack thereof, for Intel's Core i7 Nehalem platform. While NVIDIA may not initially appear to have their own chipset for Nehalem...don't count them out just yet.
In the interim, enthusiasts will still have support for SLI with the NF 200 "bridge" chip:

| The debut of the 45nm Core i7 is closing in and you can bet a lot of board manufacturers are rushing to get designs ready in order to be ready for the official launch this autumn. Top motherboard builder Asus for example, feels very confident as to its X58 line-up and it expects to be the first company to release both X58 and X58 + NF 200 SLI boards. Although no retail date has been given, Asus claims it will have X58 products in stores on the Bloomfield release day with SLI-ready X58 boards set to arrive at a later date but apparently still in time for the holiday shopping mania. Lovely, now all we need is the money for a Bloomfield platform. |
