Dual Booting 2 copies of XP Pro, possible?

Okay,you are probably wondering why I would want to do this. I want a copy of windows that is not cluttered with stuff so I can run some games. My laptop is a HP NW800 mobile workstation with a primary 160GB HDD and a Multibay 160GB HDD. I am just about to upgrade the Centrino processor to 2.1Ghz. My thought was to install 1 copy of WinXP on each drive. Is this possible? Thanks in advance.

yeah, it would work just fine, you would use multiple entries in BOOT.INI (installing the 2nd copy should take care of updating BOOT.INI for you)

What he said

If it doesn't dual-boot on it's own:

Open up the boot.ini

Do something like this (changing the partition numbers based off trial-and-error):

[boot loader]
timeout=5
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(3)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(3)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional 1" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional 2" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect
