The 1GB HD 4870 has been one of the more highly anticipated non-reference cards from ATI's R700/RV770 line-up.

One more custom Radeon graphics card is coming out way as Sapphire has announced the PowerColor PCS+ HD4870 1GB GDDR5. As the name suggests the product in question is a RV770-powered Radeon HD 4870 with 1GB of on-board memory, but that's not the full story as the card is also factory overclocked and has a non-reference cooling system.

Pictured below, Sapphire's new card has a GPU clock of 800 MHz (750 MHz stock) and its memory set to 3700 MHz (3600 MHz) and is equipped with the "Professional Cooling System +" which takes up two slots and features two copper heatpipes. As you'd expect, this card also offers DirectX 10.1 and CrossFireX support, a 256-bit memory interface and PCI-Express 2.0 connectivity.
