Need a "NEW" bluetooth adaptor for an old laptop - what to get?

So I had dell come out to replace my system board because the USB ports didnt work...
So tech comes out, swaps out all the parts, leaves..
I notice my BT is turned off..
OK probably just turned off in the Bios
Nope, BIOS says its not installed - Pull the HD and NO ADAPTOR!

Gah! So I call the tech, after talking with Dell, ( I added this after the fact, so the tell me i have to talk to the tech) and he gives me a "go pound sand! not my problem!"
Ughg.. so after speaking to the tech company I finally got to the dist. manager, who sent me to the insurance company. They said, ok, they understood, and would send me a check. But - What do I get?!
Last time I looked (4 years ago...) there was the 300 and 350 - and the 350 didnt work with the 8600's.
--------------------------------------------------Read here for cliff notes --------------------
Now theres the 300, 350, 355, and 360..

Obviously I know the toshiba drivers wont work because of the driver or something, so Ill use the Widcomm drivers, but is there any reason to buy the newer ones? I luckly found my OLD cable from my first time i did this (bought the 350 and had to sell it... cause it didnt work)
Need some help deciding if I should just get the older one that i know works or experiment with a newer one with possibly better speed / range / ect..

I reckon they got those little thumbnail sized bluetooth adapters that plug in your USB port now.. if you catch them on sale or buy them online you should be able to get one for around $20 or so.

I got 350 version for 9.95 + shipping, and this way it doesnt tie up 1 of the 2 USB slots I have - Thats the WHOLE reason I had dell come out and fix it to begin with :P

If a tech fails to transfer over a component from your old board to the replacement it IS his problem! Dell also should have gone ahead and sent you a replacement BT card for your system, or the field tech should have called Dell and had dell send the card to you then bill his employer.

However, it does not surprise me that Bluetooth cards don't get swapped, on the 8600 they're not as aparrent as they are on other models. Its very easy to not notice it and forget to move it over. This is compounded by the fact that most owners of 8600's didn't opt for Bluetooth. I can count the number of Inspiron 8600s and Latitude D800's I've worked on that had a Bluetooth card on one finger.
