D620 Ram mixing?

Quick question is it possible to mix a 2GB stick with a 512MB stick thats in it already?

And will dual channel still function on this notebook with that setup?

The specs:

Intel Core Duo T5500 1.83GHz
1GB 667MHz DDR2 RAM (2 x 512MB config) (removed one for 2gb?).
80GB 5400RPM HD
14.1-inch WXGA screen
Integrated graphics (Intel Media Accelerator 950)
24X CDRW / DVD Combo
Windows XP Pro
Dell Wireless 1490 802.11 a/g

Pretty sure dual channel won't work, but that isn't a huge gain. You will benefit a lot more going (1G -> 2.5G) and will more than make up for the lack of dual channel.

I did similar going 1G x2 (in dual channel) to 3G (1G + 2G) in my m1210. I was pretty happy.

Do a search, but the benefits of dual channel are pretty negligible IIRC.

Got my ram a few days a go and dual channel mode still works, so thanks anyway!
