Won't resume from standby

Anyone else had problems with an 8887 not resuming from standby in Windows XP Pro?

I just did a clean install of XP Pro + SP1, installed latest drivers from the sager site (in the order recommended by PCTorque), plus the TV tuner stuff, then did Windows update for latest security patches and explorer update.

Hibernate works fine.

Standby works if I only leave it in standby for a couple minutes. If I leave it in standby for awhile, pressing a key changes the power light from blinking to solid, but screen stays black and no other response of any kind is observed (not even capslock or numlock toggles) and I have to shut down by holding the power button.

Go here and follow the instructions.

It fixed the problems I was having with standby and hybernation. I found it with the search option at the top right corner of the screen.

Thanks for the suggestion,

I had already seen that thread...and since this is a new machine (received less than a week ago), I checked and it already has BIOS 3.15.23....which is what I believe is the most current version?

I had this problem before and after the latest bios in my 8886. It is hit or miss weather or not it will wake from standby.
It seems my system starts back up but my screen stays black. Any thoughts?

Personally,

I think it's a bug in Micro$ implementation of power control. Mines' been hit or miss....
Going into Standby
Coming out of Standby
Shutting Down

It can and will lock up doing any one of these. Haven't had it lock up starting up yet. Maybe a bug I haven't discovered.
