Toshiba X200-23G

My notebook came with a integrated webcam; however it was not pre-installed when I purchased it. Upon downloading/ installing the driver from Toshiba support website it gives error message " Restart camera or restart computer".
After doing this for several times webcam still does not work.
Kindly advice

. by not pre-installed, do you mean the cam was not physically present?

Webcam is physically present but the software is not installed. I called Toshiba and they are saying it is Chincoy camera Assistant Software driver. Even on the device manager I do not see this software. FYI i am using Vista 32 bit Home Premium

Take it that the device is present in the device manager - what application do you use to access the webcam, i.e skype, msn etc ..?
