Hard Drive Question ?

Hey guys whats going on..I have a old hard drive thats in my desktop that i want to take out and use because the desktop no longer works..I am going to put the hard drive into an external enclosure but how do I wipe that drive clean so it doesn't have the Windows XP on it..Any assistance would be great..I just don't want to buy another external hard drive if I don't need to..LoL..Thanks again

put it in the enclosure, plug in usb and power, hit start<my computer<the drive

then right click it, format and then quick format
