XPS--Does it Support Port Replicator / Docking Station?

If not, that's a deal breaker for me!

Gotta have the ability to dock and fast release.

I made this mistake in the past with my last notebook and don't want to make it - again.

Cheers!

There is no port replicator/docking station for the XPS/9100 other than the USB types. There is also nowhere on the unit any type of port to support this. Sorry mate.

Bear in mind, though, the XPS has a ba-zillion ports on the back as it is - hard to see how a docking station would add to it.

what would they add, seriously, to a dock? you just want something you can slide your computer into so you dont have to hook up 6 cables?

That is exactly what I am looking to do. The ability to have it docked at a bench and flip a lever and run with it is the ticket. No cables to unplug, battery fully charged, offline folders and exchange cache fully up to date!

Cheers!

Then you don't want the XPS or 9100 .. You probably need the 8600 or M60 laptops .. These fit the bill for what you need.

Part of it is the cooling. If you look at the XPS / 9100 it has enormous exhaust ports along the back where a PR would have to go.

You can always use a USB Port Replicator... plug and go, single plug into 1 of the 3 USB ports.
