Hey guys, I am working on this Dell 8000 (P-3 proc)

The main issue was you press the power and it turns on, then with out any lcd sign of working it shuts off 4-6 seconds later.

So the owner bought a new mobo on ebay. I installed it. Still does the same thing, so I asked him to get some ram for it (pc133) installed it. Still does the same thing.

So I tried a new hard drive, still the same issue.

I am at a loss, its basicly a new laptop, ive taken the battery out, floppy, his nic card, dvd rom and booted it, still the same thing.

Used a universal power brick. Same thing

I am at a huge loss here.....

Could the ebay board have already been dead?

I hear the hard drive wind up, thats about all, and there isnt a fan on it to hear it.

thanks for any help or sugestions!

Try the video daughter card? Also, was the DC Power board replaced with the motherboard? or did the DC Power board get migrated?
