8790 camera issues

SO...

I had the 8790 included camera working for a few days. I then (on an unrelated issue) went into the device manager, disabling devices that were not in use in order to get the headphone jack to pick up less noise. After re-enabling most of them, I tried to use the camera (both programs, BisonCam and AmCap), and it did not recognize the camera (I don't remember the exact message.) Now, I've enabled everything that was once disabled, and everything is back to defaults. The camera still won't work. I was able to uninstall AmCap, but not BisonCam. When I try to uninstall BisonCam, it gives me the error message:

"Hardware missing or mismatch !
Please plug in the correct USB camera."

I've also tried reinstalling the driver CD and the driver file from Sagernotebook.com. However, it gives me the exact same error message when the installation starts. Any suggestions? I'd really like to be able to use my camera

Try this (on a whim). Go into BIOS and disable the 7-in-1 ports (USB 29 type of thing) like you would for the O/S installation and then try reinstalling the drivers. It might be confusing one of these USB ports with the one that is assigned to the Camera. Can't guarentee anything; however, it might be worth a try.

G-Omaha-

I have a 9860 with the same issue stated above - Turning off the 7-in-1 reader fixed the problem - just wanted you to know...

I just got it working (don't use it that much) - so i'll enable the reader in a bit to verify that's what is causing the problem.

Thanks!

Ok - just re-enabled the card reader and everything is working now... Also just got off of the phone with Sager tech support - they are thinking it could have been a resource conflict that was resolved by turning off the card reader - booting in - and then turning the card reader back on...

I'll post if any more problems arise
