I'm having problems with tabs loading on my Win7 machine.

This pretty much is what I'm experiencing. http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Chrome/thread?tid=49b3db48d276d74f&hl=en

Also, Spell Check isn't working.

Does anyone have ANY ideas why these two things would occur on my fresh install of win7?

I will often open a link in a new tab, then go back to the original tab to continue reading. While the new page is loading, response to scrolling in the original page is affected. The response lag makes reading very difficult. Once the secondary pages load, scrolling in the original page goes back to normal. Most commonly, this is with Google Reader as the original page, but it's not the only place where this is an issue.

Since the tabs are separate processes, why is a page that's already loaded affected as much as it is?

Yes

I'd try with a version up or down and see if the problem still persists.

I played with hardware acceleration a while back when Firefox first introduced it. It has quite a way to go just yet and one does need to have a good GPU to appreciate it. Firefox already has it in 5 and 6 but not turned on due to some nasty security concern that has been floating out there

Ability to delete flash cookies!

Despite affirmations from Google about how Chrome OS is designed for notebooks (better known as Chromebooks), more evidence that they’re taking the operating system into a tablet-friendly market has surfaced. The folks over at Chrome Story stumbled upon a Chrome OS daily build for Tegra 2 devices a week ago (which can’t be shared at the moment) and now they’ve managed to dig up screenshots of the Google Chrome web browser with a touch UI.

At the moment it can’t be confirmed if this version of the browser is for Chromebooks or for Android tablets/phones, but what we do know is that Chrome has the ability to work with touchscreen devices. Besides the obvious onscreen keyboard and extra large buttons, it also features support for landscape/portrait rotation – another key function that most smartphone/tablet apps have.
