Hi there! I'm new here and would GREATLY appreciate any help that I can receive here....
About 2 weeks ago, I turned on my Dell Inspiron 1501 and the following message came on before I even got to the main windows screen:
Warning: The battery can not be identified. This system will be unable to charge this battery.
I have been able to continue using my computer without problems until last night, I plugged the AC adapter in to charge the laptop and the green light on the adapter did not come on to charge the computer. So I dont know if I am having a problem that will be solved with just replacing the AC adapter, or the battery itself because of the error message.
I called Dell and of course they cant help me as I'm not under warrenty anymore. I have been looking on line and it seems that this is a common problem which isnt easily solved. I dont know anything about the BIOS settings so I dont want to mess with that yet. If anybody has any advice or has dealt with this problem before, I would greatly appreciate any help!!
Thanks!
