Second Hard Drive in laptop isnt recognized

I recently purchassed an ASUS M70vm-x1 laptop that has a second hard drive bay for expansion. So i bought a western digital 120GB sata HDD to put into the second HDD bay. now the hard drive IS recognized in the BIOS AND in the "hardware manager" in control panel yet it doesnt show up in "my computer"
btw im using windows hope premium 32bit

also the main HDD in the notebook is a western digital 320gb sata hard drive.

maybe it requires a format first?

Right click "My Computer" select "Properties"
Go to the "Hardware" tab and click on "Device Manager"
Expand under "Disk drives" and see if the drive is listed there (it should be)
If it's not there click the "Scan for hardware changes" button in the toolbar.

If it is there you need to format the drive.

Go to "Administrative Tools" in the start menu and open "Computer Management"
In the right side of the window double click on "Storage" and then "Disk Management"
From here you will be able to select the drive and format it.
