Dark spot on my lcd

I have a Dell 600M I have had it since it was brand new, over the last year or two, a dark spot in the bottom center of the lcd screen has developed, it is warm there too...Is there something I can do to maybe correct this, back light, inverter? Or is it the lcd itself?

Hard to tell from you description whether you're talking about a dead pixel (nothing you can do), stuck pixel (there are various programs which might help), or some sort or blotch or blemish on your screen. A screenshot or photo might help here.
