l3oo questions

Thread Starter
i recently purchased a satellite l300-08t (PSLB0C-08T08C) from futureshop and had a couple questions about it.

1. i searched through toshiba drivers and noticed there are no xp drivers release for this machine. is it a very new release? will there be xp drivers for it down the line?

2. once those drivers are release, will the warranty be voided if i choose to install xp over vista?

thank you

Try the Canadian site at Toshiba.ca. The model subseries numbers are different but check out the hardware/device drivers in them compared to yours and download the correct ones. You should also look into and consider dual booting Vista/XP at least that way, you will have an operational OS until you get XP online

i did some searching through the canadian site. do you mean to match up the vista drivers on the site to the ones on my computer then download the xp ones from the same model?

since the hard drive is 200gb i don't really want to go partitioning it a bunch so i would prefer to have one OS. that being said, can the toshiba recovery disc that can be created with the computer be used to completely reinstall vista if i happen to change my mind about xp?

No, I mean to match up the hardware which is on your computer ie Intel or AMD processor and find the XP driver on one of the Cdn submodels then go thru your device manager and get the XP drivers for the rest of the components on your laptop. You may have to go to a couple different sub models to get them all. Dont forget the utilities driver downloads too.
Answer to your final question is yes.
