Project U205 - Integrating a Webcam

Thread Starter
I'm tired of carring along my webcam along with me everywhere I go.

Hi fellow members, I've decided to take on the task of adding a webcam to my Toshiba U205 laptop. I've done some research and will keep you guys posted. Some soldering and drilling will be taking place. I'll take some pics and add descriptions along with parts used for those members who are daring enough. Stay tuned.

well I have it mounted already, had to sand it down beneath the LCD bezel lock clip do to lack of space. I didn't want to lose out on the closing of the laptop but still working with the wiring, the hard part is done

Well Im done with this project. I used a Craftsman Drill/Sander to sand out the upper region of the lcd bezel, some JB Weld to hold the camera in place, and a basic soldering iron. USB camera & cable came from an HP DV2000 model. Windows Vista installed it as a Simplo WebCam. Here's a few pics:

Hi! This is just what I've been looking for, but didn't find it during my previous search. If you still happen to read the thread, where did you connect the webcam? I couldn't tell from the photos since I haven't opened the computer (HP NC8430) that I want to install the webcam yet.
