Too many forums

I'll keep it short and simple. Why does every brand have 5 different forums? It's quite a pain in the ass to find what you are looking for, it's hard to navigate, and it just confuses people.

We've got it that way so if someone wants to find a review or has a problem, they won't have to sift through other miscellaneous threads looking for someone who has the same problem or who has posted a review of the product they're looking for. If I'm understanding you correctly, you'd prefer if we eliminated the subsections for each brand so we'd just have one section each for Acer, Alienware, Apple, etc?

I must say that I think it could be a good idea to consolidate, especially in the cases of brands that get a cumulative amount of maybe 20 posts a week.

Yes, that is correct. I can understand wanting to separate threads into subcategories, but 5 forums for each brand is really overkill. It's hard to find what you are looking for and its confusing where to make a new thread when you want to.

How its not like you have to read the threads and there is a search function. Why not just have on big forum and not subcat's at all. I mean really its laid out nice and you can shrink the section you don't want to see so that you dont have to scroll past them.

Here's an out-of-the-blue idea: use the Google paradigm.

For example, look at gmail. Before gmail, I'd spend lots of time categorizing the tons of emails I'd get, putting them into various folders so that I could find them again (maybe).
With gmail, voila! Just leave them more-or-less all in the inbox, and let the powerful search engine do the on-the-fly sorting for me.

It'd be pretty sweet if we had fewer subforums + very potent search (like bringing in google as the forum's search engine...).

Way too many sections...it would be good to see it simplified....a lot.
