Monitor and external monitor not working on Compaq V5000

Hey,
Im new here and I have a problem with my laptop. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
The other week my laptops fan was running overtime so i tried opening up my laptop to clean it, but after removing all the screws and still not being able to do it I gave up.
I put everything back together again but after turning it on, nothing displayed on the screen. I can hear it boot up and the lights on the power switch and DVD drive turn on, but nothing come up on the screen.
I tried an external monitor but nothing still. Then i tried the shortcut to put it to an external monitor but still nothing. I am suspecting a graphics card problem because the external monitor doesnt work either, but I am stumped on this... Please help!!

The exact model numbers are as follows:
It is a Compaq presario V5000 ( it says V5102TU under that)
the model number is HSTNN-C17C
If any other info is needed please ask. ANY help is appreciated, I really want my laptop up and running again

NOTE: I didnt unplug anything (intentionally) when I opened the case.

It it worked before you opened it up, then I would take it apart again and verify all connections. You might not disconnect anything, but in the process of putting it back, something might have come loose

Hey, thanks.
Any idea exactly of what might have come unplugged? because Ive opened, closed, and re-opened it so many times and i cant find anything

I dont know if you have the service maunal, but try this

then, remove the heatsink and apply some thermal paste, and visually check the area of the gpu
