looks identical to mine w/o blu-ray the system just owns (but check the BIOS version)

if you are rethinking the HDD, I went /w the hybrid drive and just love it. its cooler, uses less Battery, and Ive had no disk I/O problems.

conatz!

congrats the system config looks good. You'll love it once it comes.

Congrats! That is one nicely-spec'd system.

get a 7200 RPM Hard Drive. but other than that those are the same specs I would get.
is there a reason why you're recommending a 7200 RPM drive? most who buy Alienware have no Need for that level of disk I/O. unless you an on running vmware, sql, etc what whould you need it for? gaming requires the least disk I/O, which is what most ppl get aw for.

or did you think a 7200rpm HDD just generally improves preformace? (lol?)

truth is, most home users only tax a 5400 rpm HDD to around 30%... but aw would LOVE to sell you the more expensive, impractical drive...

pretty much the same theory of getting 6gb of memory on a x86 based os. what's the point if you can't use it?
(sry, I hate improper posts with no explanation)

Yeah I am the same way there's really no reason to get a 7200 rpm drive its not that much of a difference...

Thinking about buyin this ram what you guys think? Also I read that windows only lets you use 3GB even if you have 4 so would it be better to buy a 2GB then a 1GB? Is the only difference price or does it affect the system in any other ways? Thanks again guys... for some reason my lappy still in phase 2 though :/

If you install Vista64 you can use all 4 gigs

They have good RAM too

i would get 4 gigs instead of mixing a 1 gig and a 2 gig stick... you never know you may want to switch to OS64 bit to see all 4 gigs...but if you want to go with the option with less money then which ever one is cheaper go for it...
