Dead 8887 -- No LED on AC adapter?

I'm having some trouble with my 8887... I can't get it to turn on.

When I try just using the battery, I push the power button and nothing happens. No LEDs turn on, no noises are made, nothing.

When I try using the AC adapter, I first plug the adapter into the wall. The green LED then turns on on the adapter. Then I plug it into my laptop, and the AC LED turns off, and the charging LED does not turn on on my machine. It also will not turn on when I push the power button. It sounds kind of like a bad AC adapter, but that still doesn't explain why the battery doesn't work, since it should be pretty well charged.

Anyway, I'm at a loss to explain any of this. I'm in the middle of training in the military, and can't really send it out for repair. Plus, I really need it and the stuff on it for my work here. If anyone has any suggestions, I would really appreciate your help. Thank you very much!

Bummer dude. Sounds like it needs an RMA.

That's kind of what happened to mine. Thought it was charging while using it, didn't notice the charge light not on, then it powered off. I looked at the AC adapter and the LED was not on. Got pissed slapped the AC adapter, it came back on until I pluged in to the lappy then the adapter would make a popping noise and the LED would dim out. Turns out AC adapter went bad.

Try taking out the battery and just running off of the A/C adapter.
