8890 vs 8790 accessories

Now the 8890 is discontinued, I need to know if the AC power adaptor and the hard drives/brackets are the same as the 8790s. If they're different, I better buy a spare adaptor and extra hard drive NOW before getting a hold of them is difficult. But if they are the same, I can wait a while for both.

A/C power adapters are not the same.
HDDs - they are industry standard drives that you can get almost everywhere.
Don't know about the HDD bracket/adapter.

Aren't the power things for the 56xx series the same? They are the same price on PCtorque's accessories page, and I seem to remember that the car adapter worked for both of them. Don't know about the brackets but it looks like they're the same price too.

What? I'm just saying that if the 56xx one is the same, there's no need to worry about the adapter going out of stock any time soon.

The 2nd and 3rd Bay Brackets will not match the 8790. The 8790 has the 2 obvious places for HDs but not sure if optical drive can be replaced with a HD. It would require a special bracket with an IC board and ribbon. The 8890 could have 4 HDs. The 4th Bay which usually comes with an Optical Drive uses the same bracket as the 2nd Bay.
