Dell inspiron vs Macbook

Hello I need help coz i dont really know what to buy.
I have basically 2 options, A Dell inspiron 1318 vs a Macbook.
I really prefer Leopard against Vista, but the dell is cheaper and is good enought.

Dell inspiron 1318
Intel core duo: 2.0 Ghz. 3Gb Ram, 250gb. Intel X3100 graphics, SD reader, 13.3 inches, bettery 9 cell. and 700$ Its very good, but is Vista!! =(

And the macbook is the cheaper one of the macbooks.
Intel core duo, 2.1 Ghz, 1gb ram, 120 gb, intel X3100, 13,3 inches, Webcam 2.0 and 1100$

I really dont care about the 120gb of space, i think is enought.
I know the dell have better attributes but a mac run perfectly with that attributes, and once again i love Leopard and hate Vista...

The real question is, will the dell run as fast as the macbook? When it starts, opening files, playing games, etc.?
Which one would you buy?

Thank you for your help!

it'll run faster and you'll have thousands of apps to run it on - Dell

plus you can add stuff and not have to jump through hoops

The inspiron will run just as fast (if not faster because of better components). I personally suggest going the Dell route. To be honest the difference you're looking at is the OS, and it's up to you whether you want to spend the extra $400 just for OSX.

I've never made a jump to macs because of their (IMO) outrageous cost for what you get. You're paying for a name and a pretty box to be honest.

Also. check out dell.com/outlet if you're in the US since you can find awesome deals on retail products on there...save some more money!

I really prefer the OS X from Mac is true, but comparing pc vs macs an smaller mac with less ram, etc. works faster. At least is what i know.
I think i might go to Best buy and try them out. And compare there.

Here is an idea for you. How about you buy the dell computer and download the Mac OS to install on it. I have a M1210 with lep on it works perfectly only issue i still have is the bluetooth other then that good to go.

Just a thought

Macs look veyr nice but for that hardware in it, Your paying too much. It the same hardware you can get on normal pcs.

Think of all the things $400 can buy you. IMO OSX is not worth $400 nor is Apple's pretty packaging considering Dell has really stepped up their game recently. $400 is enough to take a mini-vacation. For some it's a month's rent.
