device drivers for Inspiron 1200

I have a Dell Inspiron 1200 and a Windows operating system backup CD that I made back in Nov /05.

If I were to do a Format and Reinstall of XP with this, could I use the Dell Dimension 2400 Resource CD to install Drivers on the Inspiron? Or, would I have to go another route?

No you can't use the Dimension drivers.

Download the latest ones from http://supportapj.dell.com/support/d...&catid=&impid= and burn them to a disc in case you ever have to do another reinstall.

Resource CDs for desktops have a different set of drivers on them than resource CDs for Laptops. Before you reformat, use the link gerry has so graciously provided in the previous post.
