purple button thingy

I just bought a used c540/c640 and the little purple cursor mover button doesn't work. Is it turned off or broken? How do I turn it on? Thanks...Doug

Go to support.dell.com and download the touchpad/stick drivers that should give you all the configuration options you want. If that doesn't work the keyboard may have a bad trackpoint all together. The Trackpoints in the C Series latitudes were NOTORIOUS for having problems like getting stuck in one direction. My D820 does it every once in a great while, but not to the degree the C Series latitudes would. Might just need a replacement keyboard at worst.
