I have same problem with 2 identical notebooks(my daughters).
First one developed a fualt 1 month ago in that it keep hanging after boot up
and sometimes refused to boot.I checked the HDD and found bad sectors so replaced it but it kept shutting down when I input regional settings on loading XP.Finally got xp loaded but still hangs and shuts down if I press palm rest.
Second fujitsu displaying similar behaviour yesterday.Faulty touchpad of just MB gone bad.Any ideas'.These were both second user so dont want to spent a lot of money on them.Thanks.

Have you looked into testing the ram modules? Or swapping the modules around?

Tried some old ram I had and thought I solved it but alas. Going to buy some new ram today.Thanks.

Installed the new ram and it booted ok but shut down as soon as I moved it(black screen).
Restarted and I can hear fan running but still blackscreen. After 3 more attempts it restarts it boots into windows.
Any ideas?

As far as I can determine the problem is the MB.Carrying the laptop around with one hand puts pressure on the solder joints and probably some broken or damaged.Read there was a similar problems with some Dell boards.

NOT A BIG DEAL !

S7010 or S7010D or S7020/S7020D more or less are the same.

First Machine : This is more than 3 years old machine and its heating up due to Dry Maintenance Grease on the heat-sink. Machine turns on but cannot sustain the power and get crashed. You need to take it to Fujitsu Authorized Service Porivers in your area to resolve the issue.

Second Machine : I think Myler (a tiny layer of Aluminium is tuching your systemboard (getting static). It is located under the palm rest.

Both issues can be fixed with very nominal charges by the Fujitsu Authorized technician.

Good Luck !
