The Q6600 has been "the" staple of mainstream pc enthusiasts for well over a year now, with the release of the SLACR revision of the chip. It's well known for it's stability and overclocking abilities.

The 45nm Q8300 will be a cut-down Yorkfield with just 4MB of L2 cache, a 1333 MHz FSB and four cores (most likely) set to 2.5 GHz. Keep in mind that, by the time the Q8300 debuts, rival CPU company AMD should already have a few 45nm Phenom X4s released and they'll probably be sub-$250 parts. |
